Five students out of 23 students of Kigezi College Butobere who werearrested on Sunday are still in detention for attacking Kabale Trinity College.On 20th June this year, 23 students of Kigezi College Butobere werearrested in connection with attack on Kabale Trinity College assaulting a security guard, five students and vandalizing classroomglasses. Some of those arrested were picked from Kabale Trinity College premises and Kabale Municipality streets while others were picked from the school Butobere.
The Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate says that after arrest, students were screened and those below age were handed over back to Kigezi College Butobere administration for disciplinary action. Maate says that, the five found to be the ring leaders of the attack are still detained. Their files are already with the Resident state attorney, waiting for sanction. Maate identified the five students as Collins Akandwanirira, Gilbert Kamukama, Anxious Akampurira, Joel Mpyemire and Gasper Mbangira. They will bel be charged with assault and malicious damage.
