Police in Kabale District are hunting for unknown assailants who allegedly murdered a woman under unclear circumstances.
The deceased whose body was discovered in her home on the evening of April 12, 2025, at around 8:00 p.m. has been identified as Ndyebwooha Feredian, a resident of Bugarama Village in Buhara Sub- County, Kabale District.
According to police, the body was found by Taremwa Medius a neighbor, who immediately notified the area chairperson. The chairperson subsequently reported the matter to Buhara Police Station.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, told www.mknewslink.com that the unknown suspects are believed to have killed Ndyebwooha with malice aforethought.
He revealed that police recovered a suspected murder weapon—a blood-stained hoe which is expected to aid in identifying the perpetrators.
Maate added that the body was transported to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death. He emphasized that police are working tirelessly to collect evidence and record statements from potential witnesses.
He also urged anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward, assuring the public that police are committed to bringing the culprits to justice.
Maate asked the community to remain calm and to cooperate with the police during this investigation.
