Following conflicts surrounding sheema municipality which will start operating come 1st next month the district executive committee yesterday conducted a consultative and sensitization workshop to evaluate some issues before it goes out of hand.
Recently conflicts came up concerning the boundaries, and location of its headquarters while subcounties of Rushozi and Kyangyengyi wrote a letter to the ministry of local government seeking for an explanation why they were excluded to be part of the municipality.
Another conflict of discontent concerns on who will care take the new municipality as a mayor and as executive authority.
Minister for innovation and science Hon Dr Elioda Tumwesigye talking to www.mknewslink.com reporter in the area said that conflicts are resolved and cautioned district executive committee to embrace accountability and fight against embezzlement of government funds.
Hon Jacklet Rwabukurukuru pointed out that the municipality shall be allocated enough funds to stake hold the development of the area if well handled and called for what she called a one voice for development.
According to Asiimwe Deborah electoral returning officer says that preparation for elections for mayor shall take place after the official opening for amunicipality.
