UNICEF INVESTS 845M TO EXTEND SAFE WATER TO KABAROLE VILLAGES

In response to water crisis in Ruteete and Kasenda sub counties, UNICEF together with Kabarole local government have merged and invested 845m in water project.

According to the residents of Kasenda and Ruteete sub counties in Kabarole district, they revealed that they have taken a quiet long time without water in the area which has resulted into out break of very many diseases due to consumption of contaminated water,

Mr.Mugabi Pius the district water officer said that the residents of Kyantambara, Kifuruka, Kitokoma, Rwaihamba and Rutoma primary school will be among the first beneficiaries of the project.

The contract has already been awarded to Samadura Technologies Limited and has promised that by December this year, everything will be accomplished.

Semakula Paul who is responsible for water and sanitation on behalf of UNICEF revealed that the organization’s vision is to give services to people especially women and children.
