KABALE TEACHER DEFILES, MARRIES A 13 YR OLD GIRL

IN KABALE—
Cases of defilement by heads of schools have dominated the
celebrations to mark the day of African child that was held  at
Kantare play ground in Kashambya sub county Kabale district.
It all started when the Kashambya sub county Chairperson Elneo
Bandaganire stressed that the sub county is registering increase in
defilement by teachers and some are already on run.
He said that a teacher identified as Kevin Kikafunda teaching at
Kitunga primary school defiled and married a 13 year old primary six
girl from the same school and later took off. He also noted that
others teachers who defiled are still on run.
Kikafunda is a resident of Hakihogo Kitanga parish in the same sub county.
Bandaganire also asked the authorities to delete such teachers from
Government pay roll with immediate effect.

The Kabale district Deputy Resident district commissioner Denis
Nzeirwe who presided over the function condemned the incident, saying
the culprit will be hunted until he is arrested.
He also said that he will investigate the school head teacher and the
officer of District Education Officer to establish whether they have
taken action.

The celebrations were to be held on 16th this month and it was
postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, was held under the theme
“Protecting children’s rights a call for action”.
Free services that included family planning, HIV/Aids testing and
counseling, Tetanus Immunization were provided by Kabale regional
referral hospital.
