The South Korean ambassador has revealed that SAEMAUL UDONG project has done a great work in transforming the lives of hundreds of people in Kabarole district.
SAEMAUL UDONG was introduced in Kabarole district on 10th July, 2015 by South Korean community which was aimed at promoting the household sanitation, water sources, education, community participation to improve on roads and even faith based institutional facilities.
Mr. Park revealed that the project has empowered people to know their social and economic responsibilities to transform their areas at the launch held in Kiboha village Saemaul udong bank Mugusu sub county Kabarole district on Friday.
He promised that even the president of Uganda his Excellency Museven together with the district chairman Kabarole Rwabuhinga will be taken to South Korea to be shown how Koreans have fought poverty and transformed people through educative projects.
Mr. Park revealed that even South Korean appreciates the work being done in Uganda aiming at transforming peoples lives.
The district chairman Mr.Rwabuhinga Richard observed that the projects have been effectively and efficiently implemented to transform societies because of its great pillars of diligence, cooperation.
Mr. Rwabuhinga in his speech explained that the project has empowered and boosted communal work like community road construction, water sources which have limited government’s expenditure.
He also thanked South Korea for giving great support to Ugandans in eradicating poverty and pledged that it will reach all the villages in few years to come. He says SAEMAUL project model has promoted unity, mindset and found solutions to community problems.
Barbra Irumba the chairperson of Kiboha Village SAEMAUL project revealed that the reception of this group ,membership has increased and has been able to maintain and promote community roads and water sources hence improving sanitation.
