The embattled former district speaker for Bushenyi, Emmanuel Karasi telephoned and threatened the RDC and the OCCIID Bushenyi district saying if they don’t abandon the investigations against him then he would deal with them decisively.
He first called the OCCIID Bushenyi Charles Ndamanyire and told him that he would deal with him if he doesnot abandon the idea of him making a statement about the 37.5 million shillings he allegedly stole from operation wealth creation program.
He also called the RDC trying to threaten him saying if he doesnot leave him alone he will be transferred and dealt with but the RDC told www.mknewslink editor Friday June 17, 2016 that he cannot be threatened at all by wrongdoers like Karasi and is doing what brought him to Bushenyi.
On 1st. June.2016 , Peter Mugisha RDC Bushenyi district wrote a letter to the OCCIID Bushenyi directing him to investigate to the last drop 37.5 million shillings Karasi allegedly received in form of tea seedlings which he never planted and instead shared the money with the supplier Elijah Muzahura.
The OCCIID Bushenyi district Micheal Musani Sebele told www.mknewslink editor that they have summoned Karasi both on phone and in writing but he kept a deaf ear and is hiding in kampala.
The RDC Bushenyi further explained that the operation wealth creation monies don’t have any impact the district because of thugary and corruption which need to be dealt with effectively.” I have launched investigations with my intelligence and police teams. Karasi is not alone there are many others who did exactly like what he did and as soon as investigations get concluded we shall call a press conference. These thieves include Matiya kakoni Mbebembire the former vice chairman Bushenyi district who claims that one million tea seedlings dried in the garden which is impossible” RDC Mugisha revealed.
“Nobody can intimidate me because am a senior member of this government. I have worked in places harder than this one therefore Karasi and his colleagues cannot threaten me in anyway.”
“The president is already aware that the operation wealth creation in Bushenyi district was messed up and is interested in Karasi and colleagues cases” he said in an interview at his office in Bushenyi town Friday.
Before coming to Bushenyi, Peter Mugisha was the RDC of Kyenjojo and Buhweju districts. He is the pioneer district speaker for Kanungu district for 10 years. He is an army man and started the liberation struggles in 1970’s with president Museveni in FRONSA.
He retired from the army in 1990’s thus joining politics where he first became a district councilor for Kambuga sub-county then still Rukungiri district between 1998 and 2002. Kanungu was declared a district IN 2002, he became its first District speaker. He was appointed RDC 2010 and his first station was Buhweju district which had been curved out of Bushenyi district then.
