Former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr Elioda Tumwesigye, has made a U-turn to contest for Sheema North seat following defeat in Sheema Municipality.
Dr. Elioda who lost to Dicksons Kateshumbwa in 2021 general elections in Sheema Municipality now turns his attention back to Sheema North, a position he had dumped in 2018 after the creation of the municipality. Sheema North is currently represented by Ms Naome Kibaaju. Dr. Elioda claims that KIbaaju lost popularity.
The former minister revealed this on Friday April 25, 2025 at Kyangyenyi Health Centre iii while presiding over as the guest of Honour during the celebration of world sanitation day.
The aim of the celebrations was to create awareness among people about the importance of Sanitation, measures to improve sanitation among other aspects
He further urged Sheema people to prioritize spending on healthy diets over medicine.
The event held at Kyangyenyi Health centre iii demonstrates the districts commitments to improving public health and infrastructure.
Dr Elioda’s participation underscored the significance of leadership in driving developmental initiatives.
