Bushenyi elders’ forum, an association of elders in Bushenyi district has today April, 22 2025 elected new leaders to steer the organization ahead.
Today’s election of leaders came after a resolution of the last annual general meeting (AGM) and amendment of the constitution to remove many committees and have only one executive which they elected today.

Retired RDC peter Rwakifari was elected chairman of the forum, deputized by Mr. Johnson Bitarabeho and Dr. Richard Twebaze as secretary general.
Others elected on the executive include Retired ambassador Dr. Richard Nduhuura as treasurer, retired RDC Martin Mugabe as publicity and mobilization secretary.

Lydia Rwakishaya and counsel Deus Kamugisha were also elected on the committee as committee member and legal advisor respectively.
While speaking to www.mknewslink.com in an interview after the meeting, Mr. Rwakifari noted that the objectives of the forum are unity, solving old age health challenges, sharing on income generation among others.
He also noted that for one to become a member, he/she must be 50 years and above and contributes shs 100000 every year.
The forum identified two coordinators per sub county/ town council in the whole district to help in recruitment of new members and marketing the forum to people of Bushenyi district.
