Former MP for Rwamapala county Mujuni Vicent Kyamadidi

RWAMPARA NEWLY SWORN IN MP HON. CHARLES NGABIRANO SPEAKING TO THE PRESS
BY ELLY NYESIGA
IN MBARARA
The Mbarara high court has set 4th/08/2016 as the day when it will
give its final verdict on the election petition where former Rwampara
legislator Vincent Mujuni Kyamadidi is challenging the victory of Charles Ngabirano
and electoral commission over the irregularities in the 18th February
parliamentary elections.
Justice Dr. Winfred Nabisinde set the date of the case judgment after
final day of case hearing as first respondent Charles Ngabirano was
cross examined by Kyamadidi lawyer Ngaruye Ruhindi.
While cross examining, Ngaruye said the second respondents failed to produce
evidence on the allegedly four people the petitioner claims to have
died and were discovered to have voted from at Kakoni mutigumwe
polling station where Ngabirano scored 549 votes and Kyamadidi got
only 1vote out of 550 registered voters.
However, EC commission lawyers of Karuhanga, Tabaro and Associate
advocates and Solicitors said the claims of four dead people in the
elections was a role of voters to verify whether there were dead
people during the voter register display exercise and there was no
evidence presented to court to testify that the allegedly four dead
people voted.
