Preparations for celebrations to mark 50 years since King Charles
Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma was coroneted King of the Rwenzururu Kingdom
have kicked off.
Iremangoma was coroneted King of Rwenzururu in 1966 after the death of
his father Isaya Mukirania Kibanzanga 1.
The celebrations will take place on October 19th the day government
of Uganda officially recognized the Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu among the
cultural institutions in Uganda and consequently installed Charles
Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma as King of the Bayira.
According to the Chairperson of the organizing Committee, Constantine
Bwambale, celebrations of the Gold Jubilee of Iremangoma’s coronation
will be special with special activities and functions.
President Yoweri Museveni is expected to preside over the celebrations.
