Residents of Rwengoma and Nyabukara villages in west division fort portal municipality have expressed their concern over the increasing cases of insecurity in their areas.
Maureen a resident of Rwengoma village says that unidentified people broke into her house and took her digital camera, some money and other house hold properties.
Maureen told Mk news reporter that over ten houses were broken in and house hold properties have been stolen within one week.
Speaking to Muhumuza Richard the chairperson LCIII and GISO west division says they are working around the clock with the police to carry out patrol.
He added that they are yet to meet with people concerned with collecting scraps citing that they are the people breaking into people’s houses.
He however revealed that there are people that were arrested on charges of theft but they have been released citing that they are also involved in breaking into people’s houses.
Sergeant Muhindo Alfred the OC Kagote police post has called upon residents to remain calm and that anyone caught into the act will be delt on accordingly as far as the law is concerned
