The body of a Kanungu businessman, who went missing on 5th March 2021, has been found in Mitooma district.
The lifeless body of Ivan Kimunyu a businessman in Kanungu Town Council was discovered today morning in Mitooma district.
The deceased was last seen on 5th March 2021 when he boarded an unidentified vehicle at Rutenga Town heading to Kihihi but he was never seen by his two families in Kanungu and Kabale until today morning when he was discovered dead.
According to Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate a case of disappearance was yesterday reported by the deceased’s elder brother Bernard Kimunyu at Butogota Police Station under reference number SD 8/08/03/2021 only to realise that the man was killed a day later.
The elder brother is reported to have reported the matter to the Police after the deceased’s two wives one in Kabale and another one Kanungu Town reported that they did not know his whereabouts and his phones where switched off.
However, a one Kehoda Melecent is reported to have seen the deceased boarding a vehicle at Rutenga on 5th 2021, and this prompted the relatives to put announcement on Radio requesting whoever could have seen him to inform them.
Maate said that investigations into the suspected murder have already commenced to establish the killers and anyone implicated in this murder will be brought to book.
