In Kikuube—
Local leaders in Kidoma parish, Kiziranfumbi Sub County in Kikuube district have expressed concern over the increasing criminality in the area.
Speaking to our reporter, Deuce Tushabomwe the parish councilor for Kidoma said that there has been a wave of robberies in the area especially in Butimba and Kisambo villages.
He said that two motorcycle theft cases have been registered in the area in the space of two weeks.
He added that theft of domestic animals such as goats; pigs and chicken is also rampant and attributed the challenge to the laxity of agencies.
He noted security in the area was guaranteed when Mutimagumu, a group of youthful men who were appointed in every village to work with village defense teams to enforce security were still active.
He said that these groups were working on voluntary basis but time reached and they abandoned it after they demanded to be facilitated in vain.
Bashabomwe called for heightened security and vigilance in the area.
