Movement of animals and their products in Bushenyi didstrict has been restricted following an outbreak of Foot and mouth disease.
According to Dr. Robert Natukunda the Bushenyi District Veterinary Officer, the restrictions affect the areas of Nkanga, Nyabubare, Kyamuhunga Kakanju and Kizinda town council.
Dr. Natukunda also said that they have secured vaccines from the ministry of Agriculture Animal and Fisheries that will help them to fight this disease.
He added that even Butchery shops in these areas are closed as they have embarked on ring vaccination in areas where the disease has been detected.
