The house of Bishops that sat last night May 1, 2016 deferred the election of the new bishop of West Ankole Diocese because of three reasons. This is according to a credible source that attended the meeting of the house of Bishops;
The procedures used by the west Ankole Diocese Election committee led by chairman Marvin Baryaruha was not in line with the constitution of the church of Uganda.
Secondary the election committee never wrote letters to the clergy who qualify and the few who applied Like Rev Canon Amos Turyahebwe Tindimwebwa chaplain for St Francis chapel Makerere university and Rev Canon William Twinamatsiko of applied on grounds of rumors
Thirdly, the election committee met in Kampala a day before the house of Bishops met. This according to the house Bishops was wrong it should have been done earlier and even in west Ankole diocese rather than Kamapala
The west Ankole election committee on May 31, 2016, elected two names of whom the house Bishops would elect a bishop. The elected were Rev. Can Amos Turyahabwe and Rev. Can William Twinamatsiko.
Sources from West Ankole told www.mknewslink.com editor that the house of Bishops recommended for a caretaker bishop.
However, Bishops for west Buganda, Bunyoro kitara and Central Busoga were elected.
