The former Chairperson LC3 Kakiika Division Benon Mugume has been beaten up in a fight that broke up last evening at Mbarara State Attorney’s Office. He was beaten by supports of his opponentt who is now the chairperson LC3 Kakiika Division Brazio Kyabwisho.
The scuffle which left Mugume’s clothes torn and sustaining injuries started after Mugume and Kyabwisho were called to DPP office to settle their misunderstandings out of court but the matter was not settled amicably which tempted Kyabwisho supporters to beat Mugume.
Mugume had filed a case of assault against Kyabwisho during the election period and was scheduled to be heard last evening but before DPP called both for reconciliation but it was not reached at however some of Kyabwisho supporters who preferred anonymity said that Mugume had received 3M shillings as compensation so that he withdraws the case but he defied.
Mugume while speaking to our reporter said that for him he will continue to seek for truth therefore those were allegations that he received 3M shillings therefore he will continue with his court case.
