Surety remanded for failing to produce suspect

Court in Fort Portal has remanded a 50 year old man two weeks to Katojo government prison on charges of failing to produce a suspect  he stood surety for  before court.

Court sitting on Tuesday  presided over by grade II magistrate Nathan Mulindwa heard that on 15th February 2016  Abigaba Richard a resident of Kitarasa ward in Karago town council Kabarole district stood surety for his 18year-old  son one Kugonza Ronald of the same village and promised to produce him before court on  every hearing date.

However Abigaba failed to fulfill his promise of producing the suspect before court  which forced court to remand him for two weeks up to 13th June 2016 for the next hearing.

 Earlier On 09th January 2016 Kugonza Ronald  was accused of stealing a royal form mattress and a solar battery all valued at approximately 1.2 million shillings property of Ntoroko Health center III.
