Grief engulfed residents of Kitwe cell in Kyaruhanga Ward,Ibanda municipal yesterday when a 25 year old man using a knife stabbed his mother to death.
Police have confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Justine Ninsiima aged 45 and the suspect as only Angadiyo.
It is alleged that Angadiyo; a habitual drunkard and drug developed misunderstanding with his mother whom he wanted to sell off her plot of land and give him money to buy alcohol.
The Officer in charge of police station at Ibanda central police, Ms. Suzan Tugumire told www.mknewslink.com that the body of Ninsiima; a resident of Kitwe cell was found in a pool of blood in her bedroom yesterday morning.
The residents said that Angadiyo used a knife to slit his mother’s neck and before he removed her eyes.
Ms.Tugumire said that police have started investigating the circumstances under which the accident happened.
The residents the blamed the incident on LC officials’ failure to execute their dutypunish Angadiyo who has been engaging in alcoholism.
Ms. Tugumire confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and is in police custody.
The body of Ninsiima has been laid to rest at her residential place in Kitwe cell ,Kyaruhanga ward in Ibanda municipal council amidst of many mourners who asked police to speed up investigations into the matter and have suspect tried in courts of law.
