As Muslims celebrate Eid al Adhuha worldwide today, the Mbarara Muslim community is mourning the sudden death of their district Khadhiz; Sheikh Ahamed Kwikiriza who died in a motor accident this morning.
Sheikh Kwikiriza left his home in Nyamitanga early morning driving his official vehicle while going to preside over today’s Eid al-Adhuha prayers but he knocked a tree near Independence park and died later at Mbarara Regional Referral hospital.
According to the police spokesperson for Rwizi region; Samson Kasasira who confirmed the incident, the deceased didn’t have a seatbelt by the time he involved in the accident.
Kasasira further said the other two occupants of the vehicle who got serious injuries were also rushed to Mbarara referral hospital in critical condition.
