Police in Ibanda district have arrested a 32 year old woman for allegedly having a hand in the murder of her husband.
The District Police Commander, Mr Denis Ochama said that Mrs Immaculate Kobusingye was arrested by police after the residents suspected that Deo Mwesigye ,52 was killed by unknown people in a brutal manner at night.
The unknown killers after murdering Mwesigye disappeared and the police together with theea residents are still hunting them.
The residents of Rwobuhungye village in Kigunga parish,Rukiri sub county allege that these killers might have conspired with Kobusingye the wife of Mwesigye who was murdered on 13.8.2017 at night using pangas.
According to Kobusingye, both couples had gone to their bed room to sleep as the assailants forced the door open, hacking Mwesigye to death by use of pangas.
This brutal murder prompted the residents to suspect the wife and reported her to police.
Kobusingye said that she and husband had undressed gone into their bed to sleep, but she was shocked to be attacked by a gang of unknown people.
She said one of their children raised an alarm which attracted many residents. The police sniffer dog was brought at the scene of incident, but failed to trace the whereabouts of the suspects as the scene had been tampered with by angry residents.
Mr. Ochama said” it was a regrettable incident and sad for Mwesigye to be killed under such circumstance”.
