Police has deployed in Rukiga District to observe today’s
National Resistance Movement party primary elections for Woman Member of Parliament and District Chairpersons.
The candidates that are contesting for Woman MP are Victoria Abigail Atukunda, Maureen Kyarisiima, Pamela Kyomugisha Kihumuro, Charity Twongeirwe Ainebyoona, Alice Basobokwe and Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi.
Denis Willy Nkwasiibwe, Dr.Alexander Kampikaho and Jackson Asiimwe Rwamwehare are also contesting on the seat of the District chairperson.
According to the Kigezi Region Police commander Paul Nkole they have deployed early in all sub counties to observe peaceful elections. He says that police will arrest anybody who will cause any chaos.
Nkole is also calling on the voters to observer laws as they elect
their leaders.
