Drama ensued at the Bushenyi district headquarters during a meeting between youth leaders and the district executive where the chairman LCV Bushenyi district ordered nine youth who received heifers from the president through operation wealth creation to bring them back to the district head quarters before Friday 24, 2016 and be given to rightful beneficiaries.
The district chairman Jafari Basajjabalaba ordered the district production and marketing officer David Baineomugisha to make sure those heifers are brought back before this Friday June 24, 2016 because the nine youth out of sixteen who received the heifers were not supposed to get them .
The people who were supposed to get included the immediate former district youth councilors and the district NRM youth league executive but not the current executive of NRM and district youth executive.
The youth who received heifers because the former district youth councilor Edson Atukunda and production and marketing officer manipulated the exercise include; Grace Tusiime, Katoono Hopeson, Nuwagira Nicholus, Mugisha Bruce, Mataaze Hannington,Tayebwa Patrick, Bitwire Jim, Birikwija Mubarak and Mulindwa Maxwel
The chairman told www.mknewslink.com editor that he has immediately suspended giving out of these heifers in the remaining area[Igara west constituency] so that this issue can first be resolved.
The youth who raised an alarm include Elly Muhwezi former NRM youth league chairman and Dagalous Rwamutojo general secretary district NRM League, Nimwesiga Martin treasurer and Atwijukire simpson publicity secretary. They met the production officer first never agreed with him and thereafter met the district executive which satisfied them
Chairman Basajabalaba ordered that those youth who received heifers illegally on ill-intentions of the production and marketing officer and the former youth district councilor should surrender the heifers to the district and then they are given to the rightful beneficiaries.
These came to be considered for heifers after they visited president Museveni last year and ordered the Bushenyi district production staff and soldiers to give 16 heifers to Bushenyi youth leaders at the time but because of unknown reasons, they were given to the new executives instead of the old ones.
