The MP for Ruhinda county;Capt.Donozio Kahonda has finally been granted bail by Luwero magistrate’s court today.
The legislator who has been in Kirinya government prison serving a nine month sentence was today granted a court bail and set free meanwhile court continues to proceed with his case.
Kahonda is accused of forging academic papers while joining Ndege University in Luwero district.
Prosecution further states that the MP also used the similar qualification documents to join the UPDF which is contrary to laws of Uganda.
Kahonda has already appealed against his sentence in high court.
Kahonda overwhelmingly defeated Maj.Gen.Kahinda Otafiire during the 2016 parliamentary elections in Ruhinda county, Mitooma district.
Maj.Gen.Kahinda Otafiire is the minister of Justice and constitutional affairs. He became the MP for Ruhinda County from 1996 up to 2016 when he was overthrown by Rtd.Capt.Donozio Kahonda.
