In Kisoro–

Over 60 people have today morning narrowly survived being burnt to ashes after a Kisoro-bound bus from Kampala caught fire and burned completely.

The Jaguar bus registration number UAT 710C caught fire near Kisoro Airstrip in Nyakabande, a few kilometers from Kisoro town.

Patrick Charles Okoto, the Kisoro District Police Commander says the fire started at around 7.10am.

Okoto revealed that there were no injuries reported as all the passengers were evacuated fast.

Police with the help of the fire brigade from the Nyakabande airfield came in a little too late to put out the fire.

The police mouthpiece says investigations have commenced into what caused the flames. Some passenger accounts indicated that there was a tyre burst before the bus caught fire.
