Police in Kabale District have confirmed one person dead and several others injured following a road traffic accident that occurred along the Kabale–Mbarara Road
The accident which involved two motor vehicles: a SINO truck with registration numbers UA 156AM/T UA 165AA, and a silver Toyota with registration number UAZ 774S took place on Wednesday 16th/04/2025 at around 11:00 PM in Kabaraga Village.
The deceased has been identified as Nabimanya Naboth, 45, a resident of Bukinda in Rukiga District.
According to a police statement, the Toyota UAZ 774S was reportedly speeding from the Mbarara side towards Kabale when it collided head-on with the SINO truck, which was coming from the opposite direction.
Both vehicles lost control and overturned upon impact, resulting in Nabimanya’s death. The deceased was in the SINO truck at the time of the crash.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the incident.
He also noted that the SINO truck was still at the scene awaiting removal, while the injured whose identities had not yet been confirmed were rushed to the hospital by good Samaritans
The Toyota was towed and is currently parked at Kabale Central Police Station pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV).
