Police in Kabale district are investigating circumstances under which a boda boda cyclist was on Wednesday night knocked dead along Kabale Mbarara highway.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Innocent Owomugisha, a resident of Nyakijumba, Kyanamira Sub County in Kabale district.
Maate told our reporter that a Fatal Road Traffic accident involved Motor vehicle reg. no. UBL 340N Isuzu Elf belonging to Kwimuka transporters and motorcycle reg. no. UEW 173D Bajaj Boxer that was being rode by Owomugisha who died on spot.
Maate added that the accident occurred at about 8:30 Pm at the bridge after Butobere junction at the camera along Kabale Mbarara highway.
The Police Spokesperson noted that scene was visited by officers, who documented it and handed over the body to relatives.
Maate added that Police are still investigating the likely cause of the accident and that both motorvehicle and motorcycle were towed and parked at CPS yard Kabale pending inspection by IOV.
