Police in Rukiga district is investigating circumstances under which a 10year old child was knocked dead by a motorcyclist in Rukiga district
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Ninsiima Lamla aged 10 years a resident of Ngango cell Kashekye parish Lamwezi sub county Rukiga district.
Maate told journalists that the deceased was knocked dead by motorcycle registration number UFG 289V Bajaj boxer red in colour which was being ridden by an unknown person on 01/05/2022 at around 16:30 hours a
It’s alleged that the rider lost control because of over speeding and rammed into the deceased who was fetching water from a tap near the road .
Maate narrated that the deceased died moments after being rushed to hospital for medication
Police was notified,scene was visited by No 27103 CPL Byarugaba, sketch plan drawn, statements recorded and postmortem was done from Kabale hospital where the victim died.
The case of accident was registered at Rukiga Central Police station under reference number TAR: 10/22.
