USAID DONATES BUILDING TO MBARARA REFERRAL HOSPITAL TO CATER FOR CHILDREN

The USAID regional health integration which enhances quality services in south west Uganda has donated a building to Mbarara regional referral hospital to cater for the good health of children

Speaking at the handover ceremony this week, the USAID regional director Dr. Mary Namubiru said the critical role the building would have e for the community is to create space in the clinic for children

Dr Namubiru noted that with the extra space, more children in south western Uganda will be able to access specialized services, increasing their chances of survival.

According to the report recently released  by ministry of health in mbarara district  815 of newly born babies are born weighing less than 2.5 kilograms, and 48 new born died in the next 7 days

While receiving the donation the regional hospital director Dr. Celestine Barigye acknowledged the good work USAID has done and said they receive about 5000 children annually in the pediatric ward and this will help to increase access to quality health services in the region.
