In Kiruhura—

Police in Kiruhura have arrested 12 cattle thieves following a tip off from  residents.

The 12 were arrested following an operation mounted yesterday night aiming at quelling those violating quarantine as well as cattle theft.

Kiruhura District Police Commander Musa Tibakirana told www.mknewslink.com that the operation followed a tip off from the public that some people were transporting livestock at night which violates the livestock quarantine in the district.

He noted that they netted 12 suspects whom they found with meat suspected to have been from stolen animals on Eid day.

Some of the residents who talked to this online publication called for tight security to curb cattle theft in the district.
