Parents in Kabale district have been cautioned against harassing and
using abusive words against their children, if they are to be
responsible future citizens.
The caution was sounded by the Kabale Municipal Inspector of schools,
Mathias Akeeka during closure of term and parent’s career guidance
meeting at Kabale integrated primary school in Kirigime ward Kabale
municipality.
Akeeka said that some parents use discouraging words like I wish you
were not born, you are a failure which diminish the confidence of
children and which lures their future.
He also expressed concern over private institutions that employ less
educated teachers who do not meet government teaching requirements
thus vowing to fight them.
The Director of Kabale integrated primary school Elnadab Kajura
Kihumuro called on parents to be exemplary in discipline to their
children in this holiday. He said that they are challenged in shaping
children who are ill mannered after copying for their parents.
