Isingiro district Chairman Jeremiah Birungi Kamulari has warned security agencies and candidates against harassing Journalists while covering campaigns
His warning follows the recent incidents, in Masaka, Kampala and other parts of the country where journalists were beaten up by Security operatives while on duty
Kamulari says journalists should be given their media freedom as they report what is happening in the country.
He also cautioned candidates and security agencies against mixing journalists in their personal conflicts
Relatedly, the Sheema Municipality legislator Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye has warned Ugandans to remain calm as the country heads to the general elections
Dr. Tumwesigye who is also the Science and Innovation minister says there should be no room for any sort of violence as the country chooses it’s leaders this month.
