In Western Uganda
Edson Rugumayo has been declared the NRM youth MP flag bearer for Western Uganda.
Rugumayo garnered 199 votes followed by Mwesigye Patrick who got 109 votes and Tugume Ronald was in the third position with 104 votes.
Edson Rugumayo has been the secretary for External affairs at the National Youth Council for Uganda from 2015- to date. He is also an international youth advocate and policy analyst.
Rugumayo who hails from Ntoroko district holds Bachelors in quantitative survey from Makerere University
Other contestants in the race were Akandwanaho Joshua Isreal who got 76 votes, Ariho Mark Beitwababo 49 votes; Murungi Gwenny Biraaro (daughter to the late Gen.Benon Biraaro) got 45 votes, Tushabe Agnes 16 votes, Naturinda Elijah 11 votes, Gumaho Igumira John 10 votes, Mpeirwe Chriscent 06 votes, Muhondogwa Elemia 01 vote, Mugisha Ronald 00, and Ainesasi Hillary 00.
