The National Resistance Movement (NRM) electoral commission chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi has warned Jane Bainomugisha against inciting violence and confusing people of Ibanda District claiming that she is the official NRM woman MP flag bearer.
Odoi says that Beinomugisha and her team were supposed to be arrested because they had forged declaration forms which Moses Arimwerenga the Ibanda district NRM registrar used to declare her the winner with 37,606 votes against Kaliisa’s 37,439 votes, a difference of only 167 votes.
However, after the recount Kyomukama emerged the winner with 38.124 votes and her close rival Jane polled 37.666 votes.
Following the escalating tension and demonstration in Ibanda district by the supporters of Jane Beinomugisha, Dr Tanga Odoi has added that it’s absurd that some leaders like Jane don’t tell electorates the truth but instead decide to confuse the masses
