A 7-year-old girl yesterday afternoon died in a freak accident when a sliding gate door hit her while opening it together with two others who are nursing injuries.
This tragedy happened at around 1pm in Kiganda 1 Cell Bujwaya ward Hoima West division, Hoima City.
The deceased identified as Promise Katusabe, is a daughter to Noah Mohammad, a resident of the same area.
Neighbors say that three children all under ten years old were opening the gate for the car and sadly the door broke the stopper and plucked out of its holder and hit them lacerating the top of the head of the deceased.
The girl had gone to the neighbourhood to play with other children.
They have advised people who use sliding doors to always put strong stoppers.
Grace Mary Kasolo, the Kiganda 1 local council one chairperson has blamed the incident on carelessness of parents who do not keep a keen eye on their children.
Police detectives from Hoima central police station have visited the scene and taken the body for further examination.
