The Bushenyi district NRM electoral commission has today indefinitely suspended the district female youth councilor elections.
The meeting chaired by John Kateshumbwa the former Sheema district NRM electoral commission chairman decided that all candidates vying for the seat in NRM primaries should stand as independent in the general elections.
Sheila Ainembabazi one of the contestants in the race petitioned the party electoral commission on grounds that her opponent Rose Atuhaire the incumbent is above youthful age.
On 19th Sept.2020 Youth leaders gathered at Peak hotel to denounced Rose Atuhaire vowing that they could not vote her on Sunday 20th Sept.2020 but would instead vote Sheila Ainembabazi.
They accused Rose of changing her birthday and national Identity card in order to suit the youth age bracket.
Efforts to get a comment from Rose were futile as her known phone numbers could not go through.
Bushenyi district NRM electoral commission on 20th Sept.2020 postponed elections after the two opponents refused to agree until today when it was indefinitely suspended by the same commission.
