Hypertension and Diabetes diseases have been reported to be increasing in Ibanda district.
The Ibanda district Health officer Dr. Julius Bamwine has cautioned people of Ibanda to change the habits of eating in order to prevent such diseases.
Dr. Bamwine said this while addressing leaders of Ibanda district saying that of now diabetes and hypertension in Ibanda district are on theincrease due to the change in eating.
Dr. Bamwine said that most of the people changed the traditional way of eating and have copied western culture which has caused diseases like diabetes and hypertension to the people.
He said that people think that they are enjoying the modern way of eating mostly the rich saying that it’s a negative attitude and will kill them.
“Tycoons who are swallowing beer and chicken every day should be rest assured that it’s not healthy” he added.
He therefore urged people of Ibanda to go back to their way of eating traditionally.
