Police in Kabale have seven sex workers in detention for disobeying lawful orders by staying around bars and continuously getting in touch with truck drivers acts that can easily spread corona virus.
The Kigezi region police spokes person Elly Matte confirmed that Susan Ainembabazi 20 years, Bridget Natukunda 18, Gladys Ayamba 17, Ruth Tugumisirize 20, Jamira Uwase 24, Brenda Akanyijuka 22 and Happiness Nkabire 24 are currently detained at Kabale main police station.
Matte added that the suspects were arrested last night 14/7/2020 at around 23:00 hours at Safe lodge near Bombokya in Kabale township during an operation to fight the spread of Corona.
The case was registered at Kabale main police station under file number SD 90/14/7/2020 as inquiries are underway.
