Police in Ibanda are investigating circumstances under which a mob in Nyamiyaga village, Kagongo Division in Ibanda municipality pounced on unidentified man and killed him on spot this week.
The man who was not identified by Police is suspected to have been murdered by angry residents who found him having an extra marital sex with a married woman of the same village.
The incident happened at 11:00pm in Nyamiyaga trading centre .According to Mr. Grace Pande, the officer in-charge of criminal investigations at Ibanda Police station who rushed at the scene, said that the body of slain man was found lying in a poll of blood.
The body of the deceased had multiple cuts on the head, face,chest and the eyes and ears were chopped off on the and later the body was dumped a long the road by unidentified people. The residents claimed that the man was caught red handed playing sex with woman who is a wife to Mr.Didas Tumwesigye in their matrimonial bed .The residents said Mr. Tumwesigye was not at home as he had gone on a tour by the time incident happened.
The body was taken to Ruhoko Health centre IV for postmortem.
Mr. Nazariyo Rwamujojo , the LC 1 chairperson told www.mknewslink.com that residents suspected the deceased to be part of the gang that has been terrorizing residents in their homes by stealing coffee and goats in the are.
Mr Pande condemned the act of mob Justice and advised residents to always use the police and other lawful means to bring wrong doers to book.
