Police in Rukiga district are investigating circumstances under which a 45 years old woman incidentally drowned in water and died instantly.
The deceased was identified as Kyikabaliza Provia a resident of Kamuhanga village Nyakashebeya parish Kasambya sub county Rukiga district.
It’s said that the body was discovered floating on waters of river Ruboroga at Nyakitabire village.
The kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Matte told our reporter that the deceased might have drowned on Wednesday morning because that’s when she left home and is known to have been having a mental illness.
He adds that police was notified, visited the scene and the body was retrieved where by arrangements for postmortem were done and finally handed over to relatives for burial.
The case was registered at Kashambya police post.
