Police in Kanungu is hunting for armed assailants who shot and injured three people robbed them of yet unspecified amount of money and one kidnapped for a ransom.
Its alleged that on August, 3 at around 2:00 am at Queen Elizabeth National park near Southern gate army barracks, about four armed personnel dressed in Congolese army attire emerged and shot at people travelling in a truck reg. no UAB 196 J injuring three kidnapping one.
According to Elly Mate the Kigezi Region Police Spokes Person, the truck was transporting fish from Kasese direction to Ishasha.
The injured include; Patrick Bukora 40 the driver a resident of Nakasongola district, Julius Saturday 36 business man resident of Busia district and Nasolo Sauda 40 yrs business woman of Nakasongola district while the fourth one Robert Mugabe was kidnapped and they are currently using his phone no 0782992472 demanding a ransom of twenty thousand US dollars.
The injured are admitted at Kihihi health centre four.
