The LC V chairman Bushenyi district; Jafari Basajjabalaba has decried the rate at which people are losing trustworthy, saying now-days people can even steal from the church.
He says in the past offertories could be left at the altar which is not the case today due to increases theft.
Basajjabalaba made the remarks today while officiating at the fundraising function for completion of St.Kagwa parish Church held at St.Kagwa P/S playground.
The chairman who has been on forefront in fighting corruption recently intercepted the district physical planner and district engineer for having involved in corrupt deals with an intention to embezzle public funds.
The function was attended by managing director Nationala Water&Sewerage Corporation;Dr.Eng.Silver Mugisha,his wife Annet Mugisha, MP Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality;Hon.Arinda Gordon Cowboy among others.
Hon. Cowboy mobilized Ug.sh.10.000,000 from Kampala and himself contributed Ug.sh 2,000,000 towards completion of the church.
Over Ug.sh. 102 m was raised in cash and only ug.sh 19 m was in pledges.
People have commended Hon.Cowboy for connecting the church to his friends in Kampala who gave in their contributions.
He urged all institutions to fund-raise when there is a good cause.
