A 27 year old man in Ibanda Municipality has survived death when he tried to commit suicide in his rented house but
was rushed to a nearby health centre while in critical condition. Simon Tusingwire , is a resident of Kyabugaija cell in Bufunda ward, Ibanda municipality.
Tusingwire was tested by TASO and found to be HIV positive and has been receiving his medication at Ruhoko Health centre four.
However, today morning he allegedly tried to commit suicide. His wife whose names have been held by police to protect her privacy says her husband had not spent the previous night at his marital home and upon his coming he ran crazy and tried to strangle his own three children before being separated by neighbours .
The wife of Tusingwire reported the matter before Family and Protection Unit at Ibanda Central Police Station, His wife claims she was not helped as the latter allegedly asked money for fuel from her before they could apprehend the husband who was in great pains.
Upon returning home, she claims that her husband allegedly took an overdose of ARVs as the public watched in a bid to end his life.
By press time, Tusingwire was being taken to Ruhoko Health centre four to receive first aid. Tusingwire told the press from his bed at Ruhoko health centre 1V and, denied the allegations
