West division in Fort portal municipal council passed a nine hundred fifty eight million two hundred twenty four thousand one hundred thirty six (958,224,136) budget for the financial year 2016/2017.
According to the division speaker Mr. Muhumule Bob the financial year budget is aimed at improving service delivery to the masses through infrastructure development, supporting agriculture and the youth for the development of west division and Fort portal Municipality in general.
Talking to www.mknewslink.com reporter yesterday, the division chairman Mr. Muhumuza Richard observed that 75% of the financial year’s budget will be from locally raised revenues and the remaining percentage from unconditional grants.
He said that this will cater for local people’s concerns as well as developing west division like any other division in the country
Muhumuza urged people to work hand in hand with the government as now the major source of income is from sweat and also thanked the technical staff for understanding their work and councilors for monitoring projects of the division and cement unity and cooperation among councilors for a common goal.
