The inspector general of police Gen. Kale Kayihura has suspended two senior police officers attached to sheema police station for stealing an exhibit of a cow.
The fired include DPC Innocent Mubangizi and OCCIID one paddy. According to credible sources from police Gen. Kayihura sent them to police standards unit for disciplinary action.
The cow which the duo sold belonged to John Bashara a resident of sheema district.
When www.mknewslink.com editor contacted the Greater Bushenyi regional police spokesperson for a comment, Martial Tumusiime referred him to the RPC greater Bushenyi.
This editor met RPC Edie Serujonji at his office today evening Nov. 29, 2017 but he declined to comment on the issue. He however never denied knowledge of the incident.
“Mr. Muhwezi, I have no comment on the matter and you know that no comment to journalist is also a comment” RPC told the editor.
Sheema district is highly connected in Uganda police to the extent that only Sheema municipality has three assistant inspectors of police; AIGP Dr. Kasiima, AIGP Asan Kasingye and AIGP Asuman Mugenyi.
Locals have direct contacts with the three officers and others who are in other senior positions. The complainant according to sources from called one of the AIGPs and hence the firing of the two senior offices from sheema police station.
